OpenStreetMap is built by a community of mappers that contribute and maintain data about roads, trails, cafés, railway stations, and much more, all over the world.
Developing countries without access to the resources available in larger countries have been increasingly using this dataset as a resource to better understand and develop their country. One such project is #MapLesotho BigDataBiH strives to increase the public’s access of geographic knowledge of Bosnia by hosting the tasking manager and being a repository of OpenStreetMap derived projects.
In 2014 Southeastern Europe was inundated by record breaking floods This was one of the first times the international mapping community was deployed to help map a flooding disaster and many lessons were learned. We have a number of important projects to work on that will help the country out if a disaster strikes again. Anyone can help contribute to the map data of Bosnia. We ask that you learn more by going to the Bosnian tasking manager.
See who is contributing in Bosnia! OSMstats is a great tool to see who is currently mapping in Bosnia. See if you can find your name below!
